YA: Voice
Since the dawn of time people have wanted flashing signs and burning bushes in order to hear the voice of God.
Sometimes He complies.
But Adam and Eve had God right in front of them and chose the snake-guy instead. I’m not so sure we’d be any different. How often have we been the guilty party?
The Good news is that according to Hebrews 1, God reveals Himself in one way and one way only - through His Word.
So, we can find direction when we open it, but we can also find God’s voice of hope and encouragement. We can find out what God says about justice and mercy and all the things we sit around wondering about.
Even better, God brings His Word to us very often through people. Who in your life talks about Jesus? Who in your life doesn’t mind a conversation about hard things because they know the Hope of God?
Those are perfect places to go to hear God’s Voice.
I want direction. I want to hear God’s voice -
I don’t need neon lights and fireworks, but a Bible app and someone to open it with.
And sometimes…
God speaks loudly in our lives and sometimes God speaks softly.
Sometimes the earth melts at His proclamation and sometimes He whispers into my still and quiet heart.
In today’s podcast we look at some of the ways we hear God’s voice most clearly and what God’s voice really sounds like as we try to hear it over the media chorus. Listen in for 12 minutes of help in hearing God’s voice:
