An Advent Devotional

Make Ready is a 29-day Advent Devotional written with one of my closest friends and fellow writer, Sarah Baughman. The season of Advent is a time of preparation leading up to Christmas. It can be anywhere from 22 days to 28 days. In Make Ready you will find, 28 days of short devotional readings for the season of Advent and a bonus devotion for Christmas Day. The devotion for each day includes a Bible verse and a short one paragraph reflection, as well as an optional journaling or discussion question to ponder. It is great for individuals or families to use together.

Want to engage in a creative way? Make Ready also offers artwork for reflection or engaging with by Magdalena Baughman. Or you might enjoy the optional photo challenge for each day’s devotion. Ideas for using the photo challenge include: Snap a photo for yourself to add a layer of mindful reflection to your devotion. Have the whole family snap photos to share with one another in person or via text message. Share your photos on social media, with or without the Bible verse of the day. Add your own reflections or offer the question up for friends to answer and connect.

You can print each graphic to hang each day as reminders of God’s Faithfulness and character in your life and in your home. These could go on the Christmas tree, strung across a mantle or doorway, clipped onto a wreath, or anywhere! You could also give them as a loving reminder to friends and coworkers this season. You might gift them with a treat to neighbors, godchildren, or teachers to offer a moment of reflection in the busy holiday season.
